Ecuador: Wild Fires - Sep 2012

Disaster description

Ecuador experienced 2,912 wild fires between June and September 2012, with an average of 26 large-scale fires per day. Three deaths were reported and over 15,000 hectares of land were incinerated. On 13 Sep, the Government declared an orange alert in eight of the country’s provinces through decree No. SNGR-033-2012. (IFRC, 20 May 2013)
