Disaster description

Tajikistan has been experiencing its harshest winter in 50 years with unusually low temperatures and heavy snowfall. More than 155 natural disasters in the form of floods, earthquakes and avalanches were registered between February and April 2012, affecting more than 5,500 people. (IFRC, 10 April 2012)
