Ecuador: Floods and Landslides - Jan 2012
Disaster description
Heavy rains have triggered floods and landslides in the provinces of Guayas, El Oro and Esmeraldas, affecting hundreds of people (Government, 6 Jan 2012).
Since January, Ecuador’s government has provided direct assistance to 20,000 people affected by floods. A state of emergency was declared in seven provinces. The most affected provinces are Los Rios, Guayas, Manabí and El Oro. (OCHA, 9 Apr 2012)
