Guinea: Floods - Aug 2011
Disaster description
In 2011 the Republic of Guinea has been struck by a series of floods, particularly affecting the Prefectures of Labé (city centre), Siguiri, the sub-prefectures of Niandankoro, and Kéniébakoura and the urban districts of Mandiana (Kiniéran), Gaoual, Matam (Heremakonon) and Matoto (Yimbaya market).
The floods have caused significant material damage and affected 2,645 families, or 16,143 persons, including more than 4,000 left homeless (IFRC, 7 Sep 2011).
