Dominican Republic: Floods - Feb 2010

An overflow of the San Marcos, the Violón and la cañada Los Domínguez rivers resulted in flooding in the neighbourhoods of Los Domínguez, Los Haitises, Los Graneros, Los Sufridos, Los Callejones, La Javilla, Playa Oeste, Agua Negra, Barrio INVI, Padre las Casas, Bello Costero, Los Limones y Villa Progreso. The Emergency Operations Center (COE) reported that torrential rains flooded some 3,700 homes (Government of the Dominican Republic, 16 February 2010).
