(New York: 20 January 2006): Ongoing conflict in the north of the Central African Republic has provoked new displacements, according to local, reliable sources. In Bodjomo and neighbouring villages near the Chadian border, several thousand people have fled recent clashes between Government troops and local insurgents, with half reportedly seeking refuge in Chad and the rest internally displaced in the country's northern forests.

NAIROBI, le 5 octobre (IRIN) - Un projet des Nations unies visant à fournir de l'eau potable à des milliers d'habitants de Bangui, la capitale de la République Centrafricaine, va adopter un système de distribution d'eau plus efficace, a annoncé le Bureau des Nations unies pour la coordination des affaires humanitaires (OCHA) mardi.

Depuis le dimanche 21 août, les victimes des dernières inondations de Bangui reçoivent gratuitement de l'eau potable. Deux jours plus tôt, la Coordination Humanitaire du Système des Nations Unies (SNU) avait remis au Comité de Direction de la Croix Rouge Centrafricaine des dons en matériel, composé de 10.000 jerricanes de 10 litres, 6.000 comprimés de purification d'eau et 484 lampes à pétrole, pour répondre aux besoins sanitaires immédiats des 14.517* victimes.
