Disaster description
Beginning August 21 2002, heavy rains and resulting flash floods hit Eastern Algeria, affecting 18 provinces IFRC, 29 Aug 2002. The area of Mila was most affected, with 15 children dead. As of 29 August 2002, figures stood at 43 dead, 16 wounded and 457 affected families. OCHA, 30 Aug 2002
