JAKARTA, Aug 1, 2001 (Xinhua via COMTEX) -- Floods triggered by five days of incessant rain in Indonesia's Central Sulawesi plain of Toili merged thousands of houses in 35 villages in more than one-and-a-half-meter-deep waters on Wednesday.

By Wednesday evening, at least one person had been killed and four houses at Minahaki carried away by strong currents, the Antara News Agency reported.
