  • 66 Displacement Sites still open - 59% Tent and make-shift shelter sites

  • 9% Mixed (T-shelters, tents and make-shift shelter) sites

  • 32% T-Shelter sites - 39 IDP sites closed between 1st January to 31st March 2015

  • 1 T-shelter site closed spontaneously with the departure of all IDPs

  • 38 sites (3,322 households) closed through rental subsidy programs.

Cinq ans après le séisme de 2010, des milliers d’Haïtiens sont toujours déplacés

Haïti - Au soir du cinquième anniversaire du séisme dévastateur qui a tué environ 217 000 personnes, l’OIM a déployé sa Matrice de suivi des déplacements (DTM) qui a confirmé que bien que 94% des déplacés internes aient quitté les camps et d’autres sites temporaires, près de 80 000 Haïtiens sont toujours déplacés.

La dernière DTM de l’OIM fait état de 21 218 familles, soit 79 397 personnes, vivant toujours dans 105 sites de déplacement.

Five Years After 2010 Earthquake, Thousands of Haitians Remain Displaced

On the evening of the fifth anniversary of the devastating earthquake that killed an estimated 217,000 persons, IOM has released its latest Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM), which confirms that although 94 per cent of the internally displaced have left camps and other temporary sites, almost 80,000 Haitians remain displaced.

IOM’s latest DTM reports that an estimated 21,218 households or 79,397 individuals still reside in 105 sites.

Introduction

Context

Camp coordination and camp man agement was defined as a new sector under the Humanitarian Reform process in 2005. Since the CCCM Cluster’s creation, it has been activated in a number of humanitarian crises. The cluster has invested signifcant efforts in emergency responses and has begun working closely with national authorities in disaster and conflict-prone countries to build their capacity to respond to the needs of the displaced. Presently the CCCM Cluster missions are active in 19 countries worldwide.
