19 Feb 2010 description

Behind the physical damage caused by the Haiti earthquake on January 12, there is the wider catastrophe. For every house destroyed, there is a family struggling to respond, homeless and often without hope. For every road rendered impassable, there is a relief organization struggling to get help to those who need it most.

Jesula St. Louis and her family are now living in a temporary camp on grounds of the Ecole Nationale de Frères. When the earthquake struck, Jesula was out on the street, making her living selling small foodstuffs to her neighbors.
