Kénitra - The first Moroccan plane carrying around 15 tonnes of medical and pharmaceutical supplies for the quake-stricken Haitian people left Saturday Kénitra (40 km north of Rabat).

A second plane carrying 9 tonnes of the same supplies will fly in the evening to Haiti part of the emergency humanitarian aid granted by HM King Mohammed VI to the stricken Haitians, official sources said.

A statement of the Foreign ministry said that this $1 million- relief aid will be airlifted as soon as possible.

Rabat - HM King Mohammed VI has decided, following the massive earthquake that hit the Republic of Haiti on January 12, to grant an emergency humanitarian aid to the disaster-tricken Haitian populations.

"This national emergency aid, worth one million dollars, includes medical and pharmaceutical supplies and will be airlifted as soon as possible," a statement of the Foreign ministry said.
