Résumé

Suite au séisme du 12 Janvier 2010 qui a dévasté Port au Prince, occasionnant plus de 200 000 morts et des dégâts matériels considérables, les évaluations effectuées par les acteurs de la reconstruction de l’aménagement urbain, de la réduction des risques, et de la préparation aux désastres, ont mis en évidence la nécessité pour l’État Haïtien de mettre en place une Méthodologie Nationale qui servirait de Standard pour la prise en compte de la réduction des risques dans l’aménagement urbain.

  • After the heavy rains of October and November, a resurgence of the epidemic was noted particularly in the departments of Artibonite, North, Northwest, the metropolitan area of Port-auPrince and South-East;

  • Some people returned from the Dominican Republic are affected by a wave of acute diarrhea and cases of cholera;

  • Almost 61,000 displaced from the earthquake still live in extremely difficult conditions.

Port-au-Prince, 19 November 2015 – UN-Habitat this week held the first of a series of charrettes – an intensive collaborative planning session involving citizens and other stakeholders – to discuss the current situation and the future vision for the suburb of Cannan.

Located on the outskirts of Port-au-Prince, Cannan experienced a surge in its population following the 2010 earthquake. The neighbourhood, which developed informally without sufficient infrastructure, now hosts a population of 200,000.
