Ghana: Cholera Outbreak - Jan 2013

Disaster description

On 8 Jan 2013, the Ghana Health Service declared a cholera outbreak in the Ashanti region. Pockets of cases were reported starting in December 2012. As of 21 Jan, 18 people had died and 310 cases had been registered. The majority of the infected persons are women (200), and there is also a high number of children (53) registered as being infected. (IFRC, 1 Feb 2013)
