Bolivia: Cold Wave - May 2010

Disaster description

A polar cold front affected the Southern Cone countries in July 2010, causing a severe drop in temperatures in southern and eastern Bolivia, at times below zero, when the usual temperatures range around 20 degrees. (OCHA, 9 August 2010)

The Government reported that drought, frost, and thunderstorms affected 21,000 families throughout the country. (OCHA, 2 August 2010)
