May 4, 2017, Victoria, British Colombia—Today, Development and Peace—Caritas Canada is delighted to announce the receipt of a $4 million donation from the Sisters of St. Ann of St. Joseph Province, which will be invested in a Solidarity Fund supporting the organization for many years to come. DEVELOPPEMENT ET PAIX a recueilli plus de 1,8 million de dollars pour venir en aide aux 18 millions de personnes touchées par la famine au Sahel, en Afrique de l’Ouest.

Au début de mai, DEVELOPPEMENT ET PAIX a lancé une campagne pour cette région car ses partenaires locaux voyaient déjà qu’une crise alimentaire se préparait. En effet, les réserves de céréales commençaient à s’épuiser dans de nombreux villages, à cause entre autres des récoltes insuffisantes de l’année précédente. D’où la décision de DEVELOPPEMENT ET PAIX de lancer un appel d’urgence.
