New League of Arab States, European Union and UNDP joint project will establish a Regional Crisis Response Network
Cairo – The League of Arab States (LAS) launched today the second phase of its effort to strengthen crisis response capacities in its Secretariat and Member States. This phase of the initiative, which will last for 36 months, will enhance regional institutional capacities and cooperation for early warning and effective response to regional crises, conflicts, man-made disasters and post-conflict/post-disaster situations.
Arab Countries seek to establish a Regional Crisis Response Network in collaboration with the League of Arab States, the European Union and UNDP
Amman, 7 April 2014 – Crisis response officials from 20 Arab countries started in Amman today meetings of the first regional conference “Towards a Crisis Response Network in the Arab Region.” Over two days, the conference discusses means to enhance the regional architecture for crisis management in order to link and strengthen national institutions, operating procedures, and capacities in early warning and crisis response.
