Mercredi 30 mai 2018, Gilles Tonelli, Conseiller de Gouvernement-Ministre des Relations Extérieures et de la Coopération, et Marco Impagliazzo, Président de la Communauté de Sant'Egidio, ont signé un protocole d'accord en faveur du programme "Corridors humanitaires" pour l’accueil de réfugiés en Italie, notamment ceux en provenance du Liban, pays prioritaire de la Coopération monégasque.

Overview

During 2017, almost 38,900 refugees were submitted by UNHCR for resettlement1 to 25 countries in Europe,2 36% more than during 2016 and over three times greater than the average rate of 12,400 submissions per year during the last decade.
Between 2007 and 2016, Europe’s proportion of resettlement sub-missions globally has increased from approximately 9% to more than 18%, and in 2017 reached 52%. This is primarily due to a significant decrease globally in new submissions for resettlement, most notably to the United States of America.

Between 1 January and 31 July 2017, 25,556 refugees were submitted by UNHCR for resettlement to 22 countries in Europe, only 11% less than the total for 2016 and already 130% more than the average rate of 11,100 submissions per year during the last decade.

On Monday 16 October 2017 the Council adopted the EU Annual Report on Human Rights And Democracy in the World in 2016.

2016 was a challenging year for human rights and democracy, with a shrinking space for civil society and complex humanitarian and political crises emerging. In this context, the European Union showed leadership and remained strongly committed to promote and protect human rights and democracy across the world.

Lundi 6 février, les membres du Monaco Collectif Humanitaire (Gouvernement Princier, Associations, Centres de soins et Croix-Rouge monégasque) se sont retrouvés pour leur réunion annuelle. Le bilan du Collectif est très positif, depuis le démarrage du projet en 2008, 320 enfants provenant essentiellement du continent africain ont pu être opérés, à Monaco, de pathologies essentiellement cardiaques, non prises en charge dans leurs pays d’origine.

On Tuesday 11th October, in the presence of T.S.H. the Sovereign Prince and Princess Charlene, Monaco Collectif Humanitaire presented the results of the project initiated on the occasion of the Prince’s 50th birthday and which has enabled 139 children from developing countries to receive treatment in Monaco. After thanking and commending the involvement of each member of the Collectif, H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince announced that he wished to renew his support for the project, by allocating 450,000 € for the period 2011-2013.
