Lima – The United Nations, the UN Migration Agency (IOM) and UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, have launched the Tu Causa es mi Causa campaign to strengthen solidarity, promote integration and mitigate xenophobia against Venezuelans in Peru.

The campaign was launched on 13 October in Lima, the main host city of Venezuelans in Peru. Parallel events took place in the border towns of Tumbes and Tacna.

Desde hoy, las jefaturas zonales de la Superintendencia Nacional de Migraciones (Migraciones) atenderán hasta las 20:00 horas a los migrantes de nacionalidad venezolana que necesitan efectar el trámite para obtener el Permiso Temporal de Permanencia (PTP).

El PTP permite al migrante venezolano, que ingresó de manera regular a Perú, desarrollar actividades formales, tributar y acceder a servicios financieros, de educación y salud, por un año.

El Plan Vuelta a la Patria estimulado por el presidente de la República, Nicolás Maduro, ha establecido 15 puentes aéreos hasta la fecha para facilitar el regreso de los venezolanos que se encuentran en situación de vulnerabildad, tras ser sometidos a maltrato laboral, ser víctimas de expresiones de xenofobia y presentar problemas económicos y de salud.

Para estos vuelos, el Gobierno Nacional ha contado con el apoyo de la aerolínea venezolana Conviasa y del total, seis han salido de Perú, seis de Ecuador, dos de Argentina y uno de República Dominicana.

Georgetown – IOM, the UN Migration Agency, is providing essential non-food items (NFI) such as personal hygiene products (insect repellent, soap, toothpaste), cleaning products (buckets, detergents, chlorine), along with mosquito nets, hammocks, and blankets to highly vulnerable Venezuelan migrants in Guyana.

The initiative, carried out as part of IOM Regional Action Plan (RAP), has reached over 793 Venezuelan migrants, particularly members of the indigenous Warao tribe arriving in the regions of Barima Waini and Pomerron Supanaam.
