New Zealand Red Cross is assisting the New Zealand Government in providing vital aid to eastern Uganda which has been devastated by flooding and landslides.

Today Foreign Minister Winston Peters announced that New Zealand would contribute $500,000 to the international relief effort.

New Zealand Red Cross will facilitate the transfer of the money from the New Zealand Government to the International Federation of the Red Cross (IFRC) and their emergency relief appeal.
