La population totale des réfugiés et demandeurs d’asile est passée de 452.966 personnes (fin du mois d'Octobre) à 454.664 à la fin du mois de Novembre 2018 représentant une augmentation globale de 0.4%. Cette augmentation résulte essentiellement des activités d’enregistrement continu dans les camps et en milieu urbain.

Par ailleurs, il est à noter la reprise des convois de rapatriement volontaire vers le soudan. À ce jour, 840 personnes sont retournées avec l’appui de HCR et ses partenaires en 2018.

As of 31 October 2018, 781,917 Congolese refugees are being hosted in African countries. From 1 January to 31 October 2018 alone, some 147,750 Congolese fled to neighboring countries, with a particularly significant increase in refugee flows to Uganda, Burundi and Zambia.

UNHCR together with 43 humanitarian and development partners launched the revised Regional Refugee Response Plan (RRRP) on 17 July 2018 for $547 million to help respond to the needs of Congolese refugees in Africa.

Overview

During the first nine months of 2018, just under 25,100 refugees were submitted by UNHCR for resettlement' to 19 countries in Europe.2 This is 24% less than the same period in 2017, but already two-thirds more than the average rate of 15,400 submissions per year during the previous 10 years.

During this period, 2,184 refugees and migrants were interviewed by 4Mi in West Africa, in Mali (Mopti, Gao and Timbuktu), Niger (Niamey and Agadez) and Burkina Faso (Dori and Bobo Dioulasso).

Cette augmentation résulte essentiellement des activités de l’enregistrement niveau 2 des réfugiés centrafricains au Sud, des requérants d'asile dans les camps de l'Est et en milieu urbain ainsi que la régularisation des naissances dans les camps de réfugiés et à N’Djamena.

There are currently 654,113 persons of concern to UNHCR in Chad including 447,125 refugees and 3,653 asylum seekers. In the Lac region, there are 124,078 IDPs, 38,677 Chadian returnees, as well as 10,607 refugees. In eastern Chad, there 336,929 Sudanese refugees and asylum seekers and 3,858 Chadians (former refugees) voluntarily repatriated from Sudan since December 2017. In southern Chad, there are 96,438 CAR refugees as well as 45,710 Chadian returnees from CAR. In N’djamena, there are 6,804 urban refugees of different nationalities, but mainly from CAR.
