Overview

MIGRANT BASELINE

The 22th round of data collection took place in September and October 2018.
Between 26 August and 24 September 2018, southern Tripoli witnessed clashes between armed groups, triggering population movements of both local populations and migrants to safer locations, often in near-by municipalities. Following the end of hostilities, these movements were reversed as the situation gradually stabilized and livelihood opportunities, such as daily labor, became available again for migrants.

Les résultats montrent que la moyenne journalière d’individu observé en octobre aux FMP au Niger a diminué de 2% par rapport à septembre. En octobre, les principaux pays de destination et de départ des personnes transitant par les différents FMP étaient le Niger, la Libye et le Nigéria. En outre, les principaux types de flux identifiés étaient les suivants: migration économique de plus de six mois (32% de tous les flux); mouvement local de courte durée (27% de tous les flux); migration saisonnière (26% de tous les flux) et tourisme (4% de tous les flux).

The information is collected from primary sources.
