I welcome the unity shown today by the members of the Security Council in adopting a resolution demanding a sustained ceasefire of at least 30 days throughout Syria, humanitarian access, and medical evacuations.

But words must now quickly become action – any cessation of hostilities must be real. Attacks must stop.

Riyadh, February 24 (CIC) – Saudi Arabia’s King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSRelief) has provided urgent relief assistance in besieged Eastern Ghouta, Syria.

In a statement, KSRelief said that the urgent aid campaign included “operating kitchens and distributing food baskets in the cities of Douma, Irbin, Harsta, Masraba and other areas of Ghouta”.

February 23rd, 2018 ― Doha: Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) has provided QR 1 million for emergency response to the humanitarian crisis in Eastern Ghouta, Syria. Under the intervention, Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) is working in coordination with local partners to secure relief and medical supplies for the heavily bombed city.

Through four emergency catering hubs, QRCS is going to provide 34,500 food meals over 17 days, or 2,000 meals per day, at shelters and distribution locations designated by municipalities and community representatives.
