As 2016 draws to a close, UNAIDS welcomes new funding commitments from our partners in the Nordic region for 2017. The renewed political and financial support from the Nordic countries demonstrates their confidence in our performance and UNAIDS 2016-2021 Strategy – on the Fast-Track to end AIDS.
The long-standing commitment of Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden to international development has rooted them firmly as leaders in international development assistance. They are strong advocates on human rights issues––addressing inequalities between and within countries––and have forward thinking policies for social development and health.
Ministers of Health and representatives from the 22 * countries with the most new HIV infections in children have come together to report on progress towards achieving zero new HIV infections in children by 2015 and find ways of stepping up action.
