KHARTOUM, Aug 29 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Red Crescent Society continued on Monday distributing relief aid to floods victims in Khartoum through handing 650 parcels to affected families. Head of the Kuwaiti Delegation Ahmad Abduallah Al-Fagaan said in remarks to KUNA that the distribution operations were conducted in Salha region in Omm Durman city for a total of 150 families, and to 500 families in Nefasha region, which is one of the most affected areas from the floods and heavy rains. KHARTOUM, Aug 31 (KUNA) Kuwait delivered an initial humanitarian aid package of some 100,000 tuberculosis vaccines to Sudan on Monday as part of a total one million vaccines set to be delivered over the coming period.
The initiative is being carried out through cooperation between Kuwait's state Patients' Helping Fund Society (PHFS) and the World Health Organisation (WHO).
KHARTOUM, July 11 (KUNA) The Kuwaiti AlRahmah International Society on Saturday distributed food parcels and health insurance and ATM cards among orphans it supports in Sudan, through the Sudanese Care and Reform Organization.
The aid was given out as part of celebrations of the Day of the Orphan in the Muslim World, in a ceremony attended by Minister of Social Welfare Ibrahim Adam Ibrahim, ministry undersecretary Khadija AbulKassem and a host of Sudanese officials.
KHARTOUM, Jan 30 (KUNA) -- Volunteers of Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRSC) Friday distributed humanitarian supplies for hundreds of refugees from South Sudan who fled the conflict in their country to Southern Sudan.
Relief supplies were distributed to tens of families, whose needs were previously determined in coordination with the Sudanese Red Crescent, said Khaled Al-Mutairi, KRSC's Crises Management Coordinator.
KHARTOUM, Aug 16 (KUNA) -- The Social Reform Society, an affiliate of the Kuwaiti Mercy International Association, has offered relief aid to victims of the heavy rain and floods that hit wide parts of the Sudan, causing enormous losses. The aid has been coordinated with the Sudanese Care and Reform Society. Aid convoys include shelter supplies, 6,000 tarpaulin sheets and 1,500 Moustiquaire , the Sudanese society secretary general Azhari Abdulkader told KUNA on Saturday. He added that the convoys covered the most affected states, Khartoum River Nile and Kasla.
KHARTOUM, Aug 13 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Direct Aid Society has provided urgent relief aid to about 1,500 Sudanese families whose houses were swept away by recent torrential rains and floods. "The aid is meant to alleviate the suffering of the affected people and provide them with their urgent needs," Director of Direct Aid Society's Bureau here Alman Sidati told KUNA Wednesday.
KHARTOUM, July 19 (KUNA) -- Direct Aid Society announced Saturday that more than 36,000 Iftar meals were distributed to needy people in a number of Sudanese states. The meals provided were dry food materials, needed supplies for Ramadan, as well as Iftar meals and Iftar banquets, official in charge in Sudan's office Alman Sedati told KUNA. KHARTOUM, July 2 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti Ambassador to Sudan Talal Al-Hajeri on Wednesday delivered a financial donation made by Kuwait to the International University of Africa for providing Ramadan meals to students.
The donation, amassed by state charity Zakat House, was delivered to the university's deputy president for administrative and finance affairs Hatem Othman.
Othman praised the huge role carried out by Kuwaiti philanthropic organisations and charities, and the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs in support of the university.
ATBARAH, Sudan, Jan 1 (KUNA) -- The Kuwait Red Crescent Society distributed Wednesday relief aid to the people affected by the flood which hit Nile River State in Northern Sudan.
"Today's activity is part of the KRCS's campaign to aid people in the flood-ravaged areas," Head of the KRCS's mission Saud Al-Harbi told KUNA.
He added that the campaign was launched late August and included airlift comprised 11 aid-laden planes.
KHARTOUM, Sept 11 (KUNA) -- The field team of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) delivered on Wednesday food aid to hundreds of students from flood-stricken areas in east of the Nile in Khartoum state. Team leader Ahmed Abdullah Al-Faqaan told KUNA that the team, which has been here for two weeks, is continuing delivery of the food supplies to the flood-stricken people in coordination with the Sudanese Red Crescent Society.
He added that the team has distributed food supplies to school students in the east of the Nile areas and to some 240 families in the various regions.
(With photos) KHARTOUM, Aug 26 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) began on Monday delivering humanitarian relief aid to flood victims in Sudan through the first air route in accordance with the directives of HH the Deputy Amir and Crown Prince of Kuwait Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
The first of 10 air bridges set to deliver humanitarian relief will include aid to around 930 families in the Khartoum State, the most affected due to the floods, KRCS head of the delegation Ahmad Al-Fagaan told KUNA.
KHARTOUM, Aug 22 (KUNA) -- Kuwait to send, next Sunday, an airbridge of 10 planes to deliver a USD 2.5 million aid to Sudan's latest flood victims, Kuwaiti Ambassador to Sudan Dr. Sulaiman Abduallah Al-Harbi announced Thursday.
RIYADH, Aug 20 (KUNA) -- Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz has ordered the dispatch of emergency relief aid worth USD 10 million to assist the flood-stricken Sudanese people.

KUWAIT, Aug 15 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Red Crescent Society announced on Thursday that it will send USD 2.5 million in immediate aid to Sudan, under the directions of His Highness the Deputy Amir and Crown Prince Sheikh Nawwaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
The society said the Cabinet charged the red crescent with sending the aid due to the difficulties and hard times Sudanese are facing, as a result of the recent floods and heavy rains that hit the country.
(With photos) KHARTOUM, July 1 (KUNA) -- A loan agreement was signed between Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) and the Republic of Sudan, costing in total USD 87 million to help finance an irrigation project in the south.
KFAED will contribute in financing Al-Roseras and Al-Dandar Southern Al-Rahad irrigation project in the Republic of Sudan.
The loan agreement was signed on behalf of Sudan by Minister of Finance and National Economy Ali Mahmoud Abdul-Rasool, and on behalf of KFAED Director-General Abdulwahab Al-Bader.
(With photos) QADARIF, Sudan, June 8 (KUNA) - A grand ceremony was held here on Saturday to mark the inauguration of an integrated school funded by the Kuwait-based International Islamic Charitable Organization (IICO).
The Barbar Al-Foqara Elementary School in Al-Qadarif State, east Sudan, covers an area of 15,000 sq. m. and costs up to USD 400,000; the funding is part of Kuwait pledges to the reconstruction projects in east Sudan.
KHARTOUM, June 3 (KUNA) -- The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Monday pledged USD four million to the victims of the Kordofan region, south Sudan.
Announcing the donation at a press conference here, the OIC Secretary for Humanitarian Affairs Ata Al-Mannan condemned the attacks of the rebel Sudan People's Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N) on civilians in Umm Ruwaba and Abu Karshola towns in North Kordofan State.
KHARTOUM, Aug 20 (KUNA) -- Direct Aid-Kuwait society announced Saturday that it has distributed 55,200 iftar (fast-breaking meals) in the Sudan.

KHARTOUM, July 2 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti-based charity, Direct Aid International, formerly known as Africa Muslims Agency, launched a humanitarian aid convoy on Saturday intended to reach those affected by the recent violence in Sudan's South Kordofan.
