El Gobierno Nacional, a través del Ministerio de Agricultura y Ganadería (MAG), realizó el pago de indemnización correspondiente a la cobertura del Seguro Agrícola a 1.237 productores de Caazapá que fueron afectados por situaciones climáticas adversas. La inversión destinada a los productores es de 1.855 millones de guaraníes para la producción de rubros de autoconsumo y se efectivizó por primera vez en el país, durante una jornada de Gobierno en el sexto departamento del país.

In August, the number of refugees and migrants from Venezuela reached the 4.3 million worldwide, with 3.5 million hosted in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The financial contributions towards the RMRP reached a 29% of the total requirements in late August, with 32% of the coverage being towards direct emergency assistance (AoI 1).

In July, the Buenos Aires Chapter of the Quito Process brought together representatives of Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as donor countries and financial institutions.

The financial contributions towards the RMRP reached a 21% of the total requirements in June. A still low funding percentage towards the USD 737.6M requested in the Plan.

New entry requirements were implemented by Chile and Peru, while registration exercises took place in Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana.

Strategic Response Priorities

In close coordination with governments, the partners in the Southern Cone countries will respond to the humanitarian, protection and integration needs of refugees and migrants from Venezuela focusing on:

Shelter and food assistance, humanitarian transportation, non-food items and sanitation initiatives.
Strengthening of governments’ response capacities, especially in the areas of health and education.
