ISLAMABAD, May 6 (KUNA) -- In a gesture of solidarity with the people of Afghanistan, Pakistan has sent emergency relief assistance for those affected by the landslide in the northeastern Badakhshan Province of Afghanistan last week, said a Foreign Office press release.

On the instructions of Prime Minister of Pakistan Mohammad Nawaz Sharif, the first flight carrying relief supplies has reached Badakhshan on Tuesday.

The consignment contains essential emergency relief items, including tents, blankets, and water purification tablets.

ISLAMABAD, June 28, (KUNA) -- An incident of shooting by unknown gunmen killed at least three people including a woman and wounded five others in the city of Karachi in southern Pakistan on Friday.

According to police, unidentified gunmen riding on six motorbikes opened indiscriminate fire in different locations in Kharadar area of Karachi, killing three persons including a woman. The shooting damaged cars and several shops as they were passing through the area.

ISLAMABAD, Dec 26 (KUNA) -- At least five persons were wounded in a bomb blast on Wednesday in Southern Karachi port city, said police.

The incident took place in Sohrab Goth area. Deputy Inspector General Ali Raza told reporters that a bomb had been planted in a motorcycle and parked outside a mosque.

The blast seriously wounded five persons and also caused minor damage to the mosque's outside wall, said the Raza.

A bomb, fastened to a bicycle, exploded near a bus stand in Kohat town, about 150 kilometers from Islamabad. According to police, the explosion hit a passenger van, which was waiting for more passengers before departing for a village. Police said that the explosion killed one person and wounded about four others.
