This past Ramadan was a very busy time for Life for Relief and Development. Life staff, volunteers, and partners were working hard to provide food to needy families, widows and orphans across the globe.

In Afghanistan, staff members from Life’s regional office in Kabul were successful in distributing food baskets to some 220 needy families. These food baskets were expected to provide each family with several weeks’ worth of food.

On the 25th of July 2006, an unsuspecting flash flood hit the district of Charsadda in Pakistan, greatly damaging the areas of Umarzai, Turangzai, and Uthmanzai. The flood affected 30 villages of six union councils where 1500 houses were concerned, 1120 of which have been completely demolished. Those displaced have lost their homes and belongings due to floodwater and excess rubble.
