One year has passed since the unprecedented disaster of October 8th 2005,magnitude 7.6 earthquake, with 73,000 deaths and more than 128,000 injuries. The second winter season is approaching the affected areas. The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies have launched 30-million scale Emergency and Recovery Appeal (2005-2008) on March 2006 in order to assist over 1 million affected people until the end of 2008.

Immediately after the quake, the Japanese Red Cross Society had dispatched medical team to Pakistan.
