Diminution des infestations acridiennes en Mauritanie et des résurgences en Érythrée

Grâce aux des opérations de lutte en cours, les infestations du Criquet pèlerin ont diminué en décembre dans les zones affectées par les récentes résurgences en Mauritanie, s’étendant au sud du Maroc, et en Érythrée. Néanmoins, une stricte vigilance devrait être maintenue car les conditions écologiques continuent à être favorables et une autre reproduction va probablement avoir lieu en janvier et en février.

No significant breeding occurred this year in the spring breeding areas of Northwest Africa, the Arabian Peninsula and Southwest Asia where vegetation continues to dry out.

The Desert Locust (SGR1): SGR situation remained calm in August in summer breeding areas. Only smallscale breeding was reported in the summer breeding areas in Mauritania and Pakistan. A similar situation may be present in parts of Mali, Niger, southern Algeria and eastern Chad, but could not be confirmed.

Summary

The desert locust (DL1) situation remained calm in February in winter breeding areas due to unfavorable ecological conditions. Only a few scattered solitary adults and/or hoppers were reported in northern Mauritania, southwest Libya and along the Red Sea coasts in Sudan and Saudi Arabia.
