NOUAKCHOTT, 1st October, 2018 (WAM) -- The UAE Embassy in Nouakchott has distributed food assistance to people affected by drought in Mauritania, as part of the Year of Zayed initiative - 2018.
The assistance, funded by the Sharjah Charity House, Sharjah Charity International, included food items, such as rice, sugar, cooking oil which were distributed to hundreds of Mauritanian families and other eligible persons across rural areas.
Beneficiaries commended the gesture and extended thanks and appreciation to the UAE Embassy and other charitable organisations.
NOUAKCHOTT, 21st July, 2018 (WAM) -- The Sheikha Fatima Global Humanitarian Campaign for Treating Women and Children has launched a pilot operation of its field hospital in Mauritania, under the guidance of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF).
NOUAKCHOTT, 15th July, 2018 (WAM) -- The Sheikha Fatima Global Humanitarian Campaign began its medical diagnostic, treatment and preventive missions in Mauritanian villages, treating hundreds of women and children, under the slogan, 'In the Footsteps of Zayed', which included supervision by volunteer doctors from the UAE and Mauritania.
The campaign aims to promote the culture of volunteering and humanitarian giving among the youth, in light of 2018 Year of Zayed as per the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
ABU DHABI, 3rd June, 2018 (WAM) -- The value of relief and humanitarian programmes that were implemented due to the directives of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, through the Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, from 1993 to 2003, reached AED1.8 billion, which benefited 21 countries, while its developmental projects, valued at AED595.7 million benefitted Palestine, Iraq, Afghanistan and Kosovo.
WAM ABU DHABI, 25th May, 2014 (WAM) -- The Higher Committee for Foreign Aid at the UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA), has approved over AED 57.9 million to implement various development projects and programmes in a number of Arab and Foreign countries.
The move follows the directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Western Region and Chairman of the Red Crescent Authority (RCA).
NOUAKCHOTT, July 7th, 2013 (WAM) -- The UAE Embassy in Nawakshut has begun an "Iftar Project", funded by the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Charity Foundation (KF) under the supervision of UAE Ambassador to Mauritania Abdullah Mohammed Al-Tikkawi.
The gesture witnesses the distribution of hundreds of tonnes of foodstuff and ready made-meals to fasting people, especially poor and needy segments during Ramadan.
The Religious Schools in Mauritania also, will benefit from the project, in addition to hundreds of charitable foundations in the country.
The Higher Committee of Foreign aid at the Red Crescent Authority has allocated Dh 4.027 million to carry out developmental projects in a number of countries.
The assistance will cover health, education and social services sectors in addition to the provision of water supplies in areas which suffer from shortage of this vital service.
These projects will be carried out in a number of countries, including Palestine, Yemen, Somalia, Sudan, Jordan and Pakistan, Senegal, Bosnia, Uganda, Benin, Thailand, Chad, in addition to Ghana, Lebanon, Libya and Mauritania.
The UAE Embassy in Mauritania has presented to the Mayor of Al-Tararaza State of Mauritania 71 tonnes of food items and relief supplies for distribution to victims of the flood which recently hit the region.
Nouakchott - The UAE Embassies in Mauritania, in coordination with the Mauritanian Red Crescent Society, distributed humanitarian aid granted by the UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA) to victims of natural catastrophes in Nabikat Alatarees, 870 km from the capital city. The UAE Embassy in Pakistan also took charge of organizing Iftar banquets for needy families and people who were displaced from their homes in Swat Valley and Malakand.
