New York - Delegations of the parties to the Sahara dispute and the neighbouring countries (Algeria and Mauritania) will hold informal meetings on August 10-11 in Austria, a spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General announced on Monday.
The spokesperson told MAP the informal meetings will be held at the invitation of the Secretary-General's Personal Envoy for the Sahara, Mr Christopher Ross, with the unanimous support of the UN Security Council.

Nouakchott, Aug. 28 - Morocco sent new humanitarian aids to Mauritania following the floods that struck its southeastern region early this month, causing important damages in the city of Tintan.
An official of the Moroccan Embassy in Mauritania said the Mauritanian government received, on Tuesday, the relief assistance, which consists of 230 tons of rice and 27 tons of canned fish.
Morocco has already sent a first batch of humanitarian relief to Mauritania in mid August.

Nouakchott, Aug. 26 - Morocco sent Wednesday to Mauritania 50,000 litres of pesticide, 10 individual sprayers and three airplanes to help the west African country fight locust swarms that have been wrecking havoc on the vegetation and crops for several weeks.
The Moroccan assistance, unloaded Wednesday at the international airport of Nouakchott, was delivered by two land teams specialised in locust fighting that will help Mauritanians cope with the plague.
