Les jeunes de 10 à 24 ans représentent plus de 30% de la population des pays de la SADC (Communauté de développement d'Afrique australe) et sont parmi les plus touchés par le VIH. Malgré cela, leur accès à des soins efficaces en termes de santé sexuelle et reproductive est inégal.

Selon un symposium qui a eu lieu lors de la dernière Conférence internationale sur le Sida à Amsterdam, les réformes juridiques et politiques pour assurer l’accès à la santé sexuelle et reproductive sont essentielles pour atteindre l'égalité sanitaire.

Préface

Au nom du Bureau régional pour l’Afrique du PNUD, j’ai le plaisir de présenter le deuxième Rapport sur le développement humain en Afrique, consacré à la concrétisation accélérée de l’égalité des genres sur le continent.

L’égalité des genres n’est pas une priorité de développement nouvelle pour les pays d’Afrique. Son importance est depuis longtemps reconnue à l’échelle du continent.

Ambos informes persiguen un mismo objetivo: tratar lo que cabe considerar dos puntos inconclusos de la agenda en el marco de la trayectoria de desarrollo de África. Los dos han sido reconocidos como prioridades importantes para los Gobiernos y los ciudadanos de los países africanos.

The Mozambique Government on April 12 declared a 90 day “red alert” period because of the severe drought affecting the southern and central regions of the country leaving about 1.5 million people at severe risk of food insecurity. The announcement was made through the local media following a Council of Ministers weekly session.

The Government Spokesperson, Mouzinho Saíde told the media that “The objective of the red alert declaration is to mobilize the Government and partners, as well as to prioritize the activities that will ensure that no lives are lost”.
