2. ALTHOUGH NO MAJOR ATTACK ON ECONOMIC TARGETS OR CIVILIANS REPORTED RECENTLY, MILITARY PROTECTION OF RELIEF CONVOYS CRITICALLY NEEDED. SOME DONORS RESPONDING TO GOVERNMENTAL REQUEST FOR SUPPORT TO CONVOYS.

UN INTER-AGENCY MISSION CONSISTING OF UNDP, UNICEF, UNHCR, WFP, FAO, WHO, AND UNDRO IS NOW REVIEWING IN MOZAMBIQUE NEEDS IN ALL SECTORS IN ORDER TO LAUNCH COMPREHENSIVE INTERNATIONAL APPEAL FOR 1988/89 AND TO ORGANIZE CONFERENCE TO SOLICIT INTERNATIONAL SUPPORT FOR CONTINUATION OF RELIEF AND REHABILITATION ACTIVITIES IN MOZAMBIQUE.
