Diarrhoea

• There is an outbreak in Kiribati. As of 22 January 2018 there have been 561 cases of diarrhoea since 7 December 2017. Majority of the cases are less than 4 years of age. There have been two hospitalised cases and no associated deaths. Six out nineteen samples testing rotavirus positive using Rapid Diagnostic Kits. This map shows a consilidated history of tropical storm paths over the past 50 years in the Asia-Pacific region. The area of calm either side of the equator can be seen clearly, leaving Indonesia, Malaysia,
Singapore and Papua New Guinea largely unaffected by major storms.
