report MADRE

More than a week after tropical Cyclone Nargis struck, over 60,000 people are feared dead and another 30,000 reported missing. Contaminated water is causing outbreaks of cholera and other diseases, pushing the death toll even higher, and many people have no food.

On May 12, the Burmese government finally allowed relief workers into the country. But the government continues to limit people's access to humanitarian aid.
