ShelterBox distributes 1000 aid boxes in Myanmar with support of Rotary Clubs worldwide

US Rotary member joins Shelterbox response team in Yangon to assist in relief efforts

EVANSTON, Ill. (May 16, 2008) - Almost two weeks after devastating cyclone Nargis hit Myanmar, an aid flight with a load of 1,000 emergency shelter boxes arrived from the United Kingdom early Friday morning at the Yangon airport.

The plane was chartered by Cornwell-based charity Shelterbox, a grassroots disaster relief organization supported by Rotary clubs around the world.

Shelterbox among the first international relief groups to reach stricken Myanmar

EVANSTON, Ill.(May 8, 2008) -- As major relief agencies waited for access to cyclone ravaged Myanmar, among the first charities actually to reach the affected area was Shelterbox, a grassroots disaster relief organization supported by Rotary clubs around the world.
