Dear Friends,

This February, I had the privilege to visit a new MSF pediatric program in Lebanon's Bekaa Valley, where hundreds of thousands of Syrians have sought refuge. The project, in the city of Zahle, occupies an entire floor of a government hospital that houses pediatric inpatients and provides general and intensive care for children.

The families served are primarily Syrian refugees. Many are marginalized and cut off from health care. Children, naturally, are the most vulnerable among them.

In response to the earthquake that struck Mexico on 19 September, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) has deployed psychosocial teams in Mexico City, and has sent mobile teams to remote areas to provide medical and psychological care to those affected by the earthquake.

Con el fin de atender a los afectados por el terremoto de magnitud 7,1 ocurrido el pasado 19 de septiembre, Médicos Sin Fronteras (MSF) hemos desplegado cuatro equipos de apoyo psicosocial en Ciudad de México.

Since February 2017, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) has expanded its activities in the city of Reynosa, in the northern border state of Tamaulipas, Mexico. Its aim is to provide direct medical, psychological and social care to communities in one of the country’s most troubled areas. These activities are in addition to MSF’s work at Reynosa General Hospital, where it has provided free, confidential mental health consultations and staff training for nearly two years.
