PUERTO VALLARTA, Mexico, Oct 6 (Reuters) - Two hurricanes that threatened to hit the same area of northwestern Mexico blew themselves out on Monday and oil export ports in the east of the country reopened after another storm there.

The U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami said hurricanes Olaf and Nora in the Pacific were downgraded to tropical storms as their wind speed dropped.

Despite the storm downgrade, emergency services evacuated dozens of people from poor neighborhoods on hillsides overlooking the resort of Puerto Vallarta.
