De plus en plus de personnes sont déplacées par les conflits. Le nombre de personnes déplacées de force est passé de 59,5 millions en 2014 à 68,5 millions en 2017.

Con respecto a los ingresos regulares de migrantes nicaragüenses a Costa Rica de enero a abril del presente año se muestra una tendencia de aumento en esta cifra, no obstante, de abril a mayo esta cifra disminuyó en 41%, registrando 15,873 ingresos menos. Asimismo, hasta el 17 de junio aún no se habían completado la mitad de los ingresos de nicaragüenses registrados el mes anterior.

MIGRANTES QUE FUERON RETORNADOS AL TRIÁNGULO NORTE.

En el primer trimestre de 2018, en comparación con el mismo periodo de 2017, Guatemala reporta el mayor crecimiento en el número de nacionales retornados, con un incremento de 48% , mientras que Honduras reporta un aumento de 29%. En el caso de El Salvador, por el contrario, se observa una disminución de 38%, registrándose 3563 personas retornadas menos. Los retornos forzosos y voluntarios proceden mayoritariamente de México (54.2%), de Estados Unidos (45.7%).

2016 was a challenging year for human rights and democracy, with a shrinking space for civil society and complex humanitarian and political crises emerging. In this context, the European Union showed leadership and remained strongly committed to promote and protect human rights and democracy across the world.

The quest of the last 15 years to achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) taught us that Global Goals can motivate and help sustain leaps in human progress. It also taught us that the specifics matter. In some places, the MDGs became a widely-recognized, consistent and important driver of local progress; in others, the role and impact of the MDGs was more ambiguous. A lot depended on way the MDGs were implemented: if local change agents made them meaningful locally; if local leaders drew on their legitimacy and visibility; if they were employed to solve real-life problems etc.

The workshops are the result of the Building Communities of Practice for Urban Refugees project funded by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau for Population, Refugees, and Migration (BPRM). A workshop has taken place in each of the five geographic regions. In addition to the workshops, there will be a roundtable event in a particular city in each region.
