Despliegue Nacional e Internacional del CONADEH

El 12 de octubre del 2018, detectamos el inicio de un movimiento inusual de personas decididas a migrar forzadamente y con la voluntad de hacerlo en grupo, escogiendo como importantes puntos nacionales fronterizos de salida la Aduana de Corinto (Departamento de Corté), la Aduana de Agua Caliente (Departamento de Ocotepeque), y la del Amatillo (Departamento de Valle), para realizar una “caminata o caravana” de tránsito por Guatemala, hacia el norte de América (México y Estados Unidos de América).

Este reporte presenta la información obtenida atraves de encuestas en la casa del migrante en Tecún Úman, Guatemala. En total fueron entrevistados 123 personas. 100% de estos migrantes se habían movido por tierra (por ejemplo automóvil, tren, etc) y casi todos (122) mencionaron los Estados Unidos como su país de destino. 88 personas recibieron información sobre asistencia para retorno y repatriación y 10 personas obtuvieron información sobre la disponibilidad de servicios médicos.

PROGRAMA DE RETORNO VOLUNTARIO ASISTIDO

El programa de retorno voluntario asistido de la OIM tiene como objetivo lograr el retorno voluntario, ordenado y humano de los migrantes que no pueden o no quieren permanecer en sus países de tránsito o destino y desean regresar voluntariamente a su país de origen.

Desde el 4 de noviembre de 2018, la OIM ha brindado asistencia de retorno voluntario a 589 personas, de las cuales 38 son niños, niñas y adolescentes migrantes no acompañados.

Este reporte presenta la información obtenida a través de las encuestas realizadas con 128 migrantes en la casa del migrante en Tecún Úman. La mayoría entre ellos (110 personas) mencionaron los Estados Unidos como su país de destino final, mientras que 16 quieren ir a Mexico. 87% abandonaron su país de origen por motivos económicos y 9% por guerra o conflito. 28 % de las personas encuestadas viajan en grupo, entre otros con el/la conyuge e hijos (38%), los hermanos (30%) y solo el/la cónyuge (13%).

For each FEWS NET country and region, the Price Bulletin provides a set of charts showing monthly prices in the current marketing year in selected urban centers and allowing users to compare current trends with both five-year average prices, indicative of seasonal trends, and prices in the previous year.

IOM’s voluntary assisted return program aims to achieve the voluntary, orderly and humane return of migrants who can not or do not wish to remain in their host countries and wish to voluntarily return to their country of origin.

Since November 4th, with PRM support, IOM has provided voluntary return assistance to 453 people, of which 25 are unaccompanied migrant children

Outside of sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean is the region with the highest HIV incidence rate among adolescents aged 10–19 years, and key indicators show only limited progress in meeting their HIV prevention needs. Since 2010, for example, the estimated 19,000 new HIV infections annually among 10- to 19-year-olds is essentially unchanged. The situation is roughly the same among younger children.

- In West Africa, October marked the beginning of the 2018/19 marketing season and market supplies are increasing from new harvests. Expected above-average crop production estimates are favoring release of stocks, further improving supplies. Prices have generally decreased from the previous month and 2017 levels but remain above average. Insecurity and conflict disrupt market activities in the Greater Lake Chad basin, Tibesti region, northern and central Mali, and the Liptako-Gourma region.
