United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Ms. Sigrid Kaag strongly condemned the four suicide bombings that took place at dawn this morning in the north-eastern Lebanese border town of El-Qaa, and which killed five civilians and injured several others.
United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Ms. Sigrid Kaag visited on Tuesday the Palestine refugee camp of Rashidieh in southern Lebanon.
United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon Ms. Sigrid Kaag congratulated the Lebanese people and authorities for the successful completion of the four rounds of municipal elections held nationally.
She praised the safe environment that prevailed thanks to the efforts of the Ministry of Interior and the security forces.

United Nations Special Coordinator Ms. Sigrid Kaag welcomed the launch of the municipal elections in Lebanon today.
During a tour of several polling centres in Beirut, Ms. Kaag noted “I am glad to see Lebanese voting this morning".
Lebanon at a glance in 2015
2015 was not an easy year for Lebanon. But though there were many challenges to peace, security and development, many achievements highlighted Lebanon’s own resilience and the commitment of its friends.
United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Ms. Sigrid Kaag visited today a range of social economic programmes in southern Lebanon.
In Marjayoun, the Special Coordinator visited water management and irrigation projects supported by FAO. In Tyre, Ms. Kaag met with representatives of the Imam Moussa Sadr Foundation. Other project visits included the Civil Committee Against Addiction in Sidon and a visit to an ABAAD centre focusing on assistance to survivors of sexual and gender based violence.
