The management of the UAE Program announced that it had expanded its existing Action Plan for the reconstruction, maintenance and rehabilitation of destroyed schools Lebanon, which included in the first stage schools in south Lebanon, to include new schools in the areas of the western Bekaa, the Shouf, Baabda and Aley, bringing the number of schools to 272.
The management of the UAE Program explained that it would be handing over 15 schools to the Ministry of Education and Higher Education at the end of the maintenance and restoration.
The management of the UAE Program announced the completion of the de-mining and clearing of cluster bombs from the farm lands of Arnun, as well as from the Shaqif citadel area in Nabatieh, southern Lebanon.
The fields were handed over to the town's mayor in the presence of officials from the United Nations De-mining Coordination Center, the Lebanese Army National Office for de-mining and a representative of the Ministry of Archeology.

The management of the UAE Program To Support & Rebuild Lebanon announced today that the village of Mlikh in Southern Lebanon has been entirely cleared from mines and cluster bombs.
Beirut - The UAE Initiative for Support and Reconstruction of Lebanon yesterday delivered 52 renovated schools to the Lebanese ministry of education, a UAE official has announced. Mohammed Al Rumaithy, Director General of the project, said yesterday's delivery took to 233 the total number of schools rebuilt and renovated in the south of Lebanon by the UAE. 'We have decided to raise the ceiling of renovation targeted schools to 257,' he added.
The deadline set for the UAE demining southern Lebanon operations is a top priority for the UAE Programme to Support and Rebuild Lebanon, Colonel Saif Jaber Al Alili, Chief of the UAE National Demining Commission (UAENDC) was quoted as saying by UAE Al Ittihad daily newspaper.
UAENDC is tasked with clearing mines, defusing bombs and removing cluster bomblets and other types of unexploded munitions in Southern Lebanon and is set to accomplish the mission within the set period of 15 months, noted Al Alili.

In the first Arab initiative of its kind to the Ein el-Hilweh camp, targeted by the Israelis last July, the UAE Program to Support & Rebuild Lebanon has begun work on the reconstruction and building of the Al Rawda Educational Complex part of the camp. Destroyed by Israel during its aggression against Lebanon, the rebuilt complex will be named after the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
The project was instigated during a visit a few days ago by a delegation from the UAE Program to the Ein El Hilweh camp.
Marking the start of the mines and cluster bombs clearance from southern Lebanon, the management of the UAE Program To Support & Rebuild Lebanon organized a field tour for a large delegation of local, regional and foreign media. Beirut - A UAE aid plane has arrived in Rafiq al Hariri International Airport in Beirut carrying 40 tonnes of food supplies and medical equipment in support of the people of war-ravaged Lebanon. The consignment was received on the airport tarmac by Mrs. Randa Barri, wife of the Speaker of Lebanese Parliament and Chairperson of the Lebanese Society for the Handicapped and Mohammed Sultan Al Suweidi, UAE Ambassador to Lebanon and a number of officials.

In an effort to boost its humanitarian relief operations in war-ravaged Lebanon pursuant to the ceasefire in the southern areas, the UAE Red Crescent Society (RCS) is intensifying its activities to help displaced Lebanese citizens who are returning to their homes. RCS aims to improve the humanitarian conditions of those who were forced by the Israeli aggression to leave their homes and villages to other parts of the country.
Beirut - A UAE plane carrying 15 tons of relief medical and food aid landed here yesterday at the Rafiq Al Hariri International Airport as part of an air-bridge between the UAE and Lebanon to deliver relief supplies to the Lebanese people. Members of the UAE Relief Committee and members of the UAE embassy in Beirut received the relief supplies on the Airport's tarmac. The UAE relief bridge to Lebanon has dispatched so far some 35 planes to the war-ravaged country. (Emirates News Agency, WAM)
The UAE Red Crescent Society (RCS) has so far spent a total amount of Dh34,951,598 on its relief programme for the Lebanese people. The amount covered the relief assistance delivered by air and sea to Lebanon since the beginning of the crisis.
The RCS is currently intensifying its efforts, seizing the opportunity provided by the ceasefire, to provide for those returning to their destroyed homes their needs to help alleviate their sufferings.
