Brother's Brother Foundation (BBF) is working with colleague agency Food for the Poor out of Miami, FL to provide assistance to the 800,000 people in Haiti affected by Hurricanes Gustave, Hanna, and Ike.
Brother's Brother Foundation is responding to a request for help and sending the first of five cargo containers to Port Au Prince, Haiti on Monday, September 15, 2008. Medical equipment and pharmaceuticals that include antibiotics, hypertensives, anti-epileptics and diabetes medications will leave from BBF's north side warehouse.
During the month of May 2006, Brother's Brother Foundation provided 50 tractor trailer load shipments to those in need in Albania, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ethiopia, Ghana, Grenada, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Iraq, Jamaica, Jordan, Kenya, Lebanon, Mexico, Nicaragua, Palestine, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Romania, Senegal and Uganda. These donated items exceed 1,200,00 pounds in weigh. Include were anti- convulsives, antidepressants, anti-hypertensives and allergy medications that totaled 300,000 bottles as well as hospital beds and medical supplies.
SENDING SHIPMENTS TO HAITI, JAMAICA, HONDURAS, PARAGUAY AND NICARAGUA OCTOBER 7-13, 2004.
In September and early October 2004, Brother's Brother Foundation (BBF) received more than three tractor trailer loads of children's antibiotics and other medicines valued at over $48 million, to aid in the treatment and health of children and adults world wide. In particular, BBF is responding to needs as a result of the recent hurricanes.
Trailers will be loaded at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, October 6, 7 and 8.
The Brother's Brother Foundation continues to respond to urgent requests from the citizens of Haiti and the Dominican Republic. A trailer load of requested pharmaceuticals (with a value of $1 million) was sent to the Dominican Republic on May 13th and will be arriving later this week. In the last four months Brother's Brother Foundation sent over $5.8 million in requested medicines to hospitals and clinics in Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Included were cardiac, asthma, antibiotic and anti-inflammatory medications as well as TB tests.
