Afghanistan

WFP continues to provide food assistance to victims of harsh winter conditions in Nangarhar and Hirat provinces. A total of 40 mt have been dispatched to more than 3,000 beneficiaries. In addition, 15,000 winter affected IDPs have received WFP food assistance in Hirat province.

During the reporting period, due to tribal tensions, there was a displacement of 400 families from Nuristan province to Nari district of Kunar province.

Afghanistan

Afghanistan

On 2nd January, five commercial trucks carrying 75 tonnes of WFP food to Khas Uruzgan district of Uruzgan province was diverted by AGEs in Qarabagh district of Ghazni province.

Three trucks were burnt by AGEs on the spot and the other two were diverted to an unknown location along with the drivers and the food.

Three drivers were later released but two remain missing.
