ASMARA, March 18 (Reuters) - Eritrea said on Thursday its army killed at least 10,000 Ethiopian troops in intense fighting along their contested border this week.

Presidential adviser Yermane Gebremeskel said clashes continued on Thursday in the western border region of Badme but that fighting had died down along the central Tsorona front, where journalists saw hundreds of dead Ethiopian soldiers on Tuesday.

ASMARA, March 16 (Reuters) - Eritrea said it had repulsed an Ethiopian offensive and destroyed 25 tanks on a second day of renewed border fighting on Monday between the two Horn of Africa states.

Eritrean state radio said it dealt a severe blow to Ethiopian forces during the fighting on the Tsorona front, south of the capital Asmara.

"The offensive at the Alitena-Mereb front, Tsorona wing, started by the Ethiopian regime...has been repulsed by the heroic forces of the Eritrean defence force today," the radio said in a broadcast late on …

NAIROBI, March 11 (Reuters) - Fighting has died down in the border war between Ethiopia and Eritrea but with a peace deal seemingly as remote as ever both sides are gearing up for fresh battles, diplomats say.
