  • US$3.2 billion required in 2024 to provide multisectoral humanitarian assistance to 15.5 million Ethiopians – Government of Ethiopia, humanitarian community joint appeal.
  • 4.4 million internally displaced people severely impacted by conflict, hostilities and climate shocks require scaled up multi-sectoral assistance.
  • $17 million allocated from the OCHA Central Emergency Response Fund to respond to worsening food insecurity; additional funding and resources needed to avert worst impact.
  • A national Flood Alert on the March-May rainy season calls for coordinated preparedness and response readiness in at-risk areas; over a million people forecasted to be displaced.
  • A Peer-to-Peer Support Mission from the Inter-Agency Standing Committee is visiting Ethiopia as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen humanitarian coordination and response.
