ABU DHABI, 17th October 2015 (WAM) - Europe is witnessing its most dramatic influx of refugees since the end of World War II. Vast numbers of refugees, mainly from Syria, but also from Iraq, Eritrea and Afghanistan are fleeing from civil war and conflict resulting in desperate attempts to cross the Mediterranean to Europe where they hope to find safety and shelter.
Asmara: The UAE Red Crescent Authority has distributed clothing to 5,000 Eritrean children in six Eritrean provinces as part of the Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Campaign to clothe one million deprived children to improve the lives of children.

WAM SANAA: The Red Crescent Authority (RCA) will launch Ramadan aid programs dedicated to help Yemeni poor orphans, people with special needs and Somali and Eritrean refugees who were displaced to Yemeni cities.
The UAE's humanitarian major completed preparations for the 4-day initiative, according to director of RCA's office in Sanaa Khalfan Saif Al-Kindi.

WAM Dubai, 11 Sept. 2011 (WAM): The Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Environment in the UAE have joined hands with the Arab Federation for Food Industries and AR Group to roll out an ambitious initiative to support food security in the Arab world and the address the famine in the African Horn.
A two-day telethon by Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI) yesterday raised Dh18.8 million for victims of famine in the Horn of Africa. The fundraiser which kicked off Tuesday on DMI's TV stations and print publications and radio stations aims to provide emergency humanitarian aid for famine-struck populations in Somalia and other drought-hit Horn of Africa countries.
