Heavy rain hit several parts of the country over the last few days, causing floods and triggering landslides. The most affected departments are Antioquia and Cordoba. According to media reports as of 4 June at 8.00 UTC, 33,500 people have been affected by floods in the municipalities of Caucasia and Copacabana (Antioquia Department) and 1,400 families in nine municipalities of Cordoba Department.

Since 2013, Venezuela has been facing a severe economic, political and social crisis. Access to health care, sanitation, and food is scarce and humanitarian needs are massive. More than 3 million Venezuelans have fled the country, and are taking refuge in other Latin America countries and the Caribbean. Among them, more than a million people are in Colombia.

In November 2018, Humanity & Inclusion assessed the needs of migrants in La Guajira, an entry point in northern Colombia, in collaboration with the Danish Refugee Council (DRC).

En 2018, el impacto humanitario por la convergencia de emergencias relacionadas al conflicto, al incremento de la violencia armada y a la ocurrencia de eventos de desastres naturales y antrópicos, ha propiciado que alrededor de 5.1 millones de personas vivan con necesidades humanitarias sectoriales en varias regiones de Colombia.

Las regiones con mayor concentración del impacto humanitario son Nororiente-Frontera con Venezuela, Sur-Frontera con Ecuador, Pacífico-Frontera con Panamá y Noroccidente.
