CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC
ARMED FIGHTING DISPLACES 8,000 IN SOUTH-EAST
Around 8,000 people were forced to flee for safety to the central Bambari town between 18 September and 10 October following armed clashes in Basse Kotto, Mbomou and Haute Kotto prefectures in the country’s south-east. The latest displacement raises to 31,632 the number of people forced from their homes in the region by clashes. Humanitarian organizations are mobilizing assistance.

Environ 8 000 personnes ont été forcées de fuir vers la ville de Bambari, au centre, entre le 18 septembre et le 10 octobre, à la suite d'affrontements armés dans les préfectures de la Basse Kotto, de Mbomou et de la Haute Kotto, dans le sud-est du pays. Ce dernier déplacement porte à 31 632 le nombre de personnes qui ont été forcées de quitter leur foyer dans la région. Les organisations humanitaires sont entrain de mobiliser l'aide.

Genève (CICR)– Le CICR a créé la toute première «obligation à impact humanitaire» afin de transformer la façon dont les services essentiels destinés aux personnes handicapées sont financés dans les pays touchés par des conflits.

Insights from the Mixed Migration Monitoring Mechanism initiative (4Mi) in Mali and Niger
Executive Summary
• The Mixed Migration Monitoring Mechanism initiative (4Mi) collects data on the conditions of mixed migration movements across various regions. It is implemented by the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) and the Regional Mixed Migration Secretariat.

During the period under review, five regional working groups met: Food Security and Nutrition (1 June), Health (6th), Protection (8th), Cash (21st) and WASH (30th). Below are the main outcomes of the meetings.

In 2016, a total of 25 human cases of dracunculiasis1 (guinea-worm disease) were reported to the World Health Organization (WHO); Mali reported zero cases for the first time.
