The trafficking and illicit circulation of small arms and light weapons are often discussed in the context of fuelling instability and insecurity in West Africa. Rarely, however, is the issue of locally manufactured weapons given appropriate attention in these conversations.

Retour volontaire des réfugiés ivoiriens

  • Le mois d'octobre a enregistré l'arrivée de 03 personnes rapatriées en provenance du Benin qui ont été accueillies dans la dignité et la sécurité à l'aéroport Felix Houphouët Boigny d'Abidjan le 15 octobre 2017.

  • Ce chiffre, l'un des plus bas de l'année, s'explique par la très mauvaise praticabilité des axes routiers fortement endommagés par la saison des pluies, qui a été encore d'une forte intensité pendant ce mois d'octobre 2017.

The Algerian authorities have launched a discriminatory crackdown against foreign nationals, rounding up and forcibly expelling more than 2,000 sub-Saharan African migrants from a range of countries to neighbouring Niger and Mali over the past three weeks, said Amnesty International. Those expelled include more than 300 minors, among them at least 25 unaccompanied children.
